Falafel Wrap with Tzatziki, Mixed Greens & Pickled Onions

Falafel Wrap with Tzatziki, Mixed Greens & Pickled Onions

By Nathan Haskins

Total: 15 minutes
VegetarianMediterraneanQuick and Easy

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces baked or pan-fried falafel balls
  • 1 medium whole-wheat pita or wrap
  • 1/4 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 1 cup mixed greens
  • 3 tablespoons pickled red onion
  • 5 slices cucumber slices
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1

Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Heat the falafel balls in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are warm and slightly crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.

2

Lay the whole-wheat pita or wrap flat on a clean surface. Spread 1/4 cup of tzatziki sauce evenly over the surface, leaving a bit of space around the edges for easy wrapping.

3

Layer 1 cup of mixed greens across the center of the wrap. Arrange the cucumber slices on top of the greens.

4

Add 4 warm falafel balls on top of the cucumber slices, slightly pressing them into the greens.

5

Scatter 3 tablespoons of pickled red onion over the falafel. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper for seasoning.

6

Fold in the sides of the wrap and roll it up tightly from bottom to top, ensuring the filling stays inside. Cut in half diagonally to serve.
