Milk Fudge

Milk Fudge

By Ananya Bhamode

Total: 1 hour
DessertSweet Treats

Ingredients

  • 1 liter milk
  • 400 grams milkmade condensed milk
  • 200 grams sugar
  • 50 grams ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 50 grams chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, cashews)

Instructions

1

In a large, heavy-bottomed pan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from sticking to the bottom.

2

Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until it reduces to half its original volume. Stir frequently to ensure even thickening.

3

Add the condensed milk and sugar to the reduced milk. Mix well and continue to cook on a low flame.

4

Keep stirring the mixture continuously to prevent it from burning. Cook until the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

5

Add ghee, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the mixture. Mix well to combine all flavors evenly.

6

Continue to cook and stir until the mixture reaches a dense fudge-like consistency and doesn't stick to your fingers when pinched.

7

Add the chopped nuts and mix them into the fudge. Turn off the heat.

8

Grease a flat plate or a tray with a small amount of ghee, and pour the fudge mixture onto it, spreading it evenly.

9

Let it cool for about 30 minutes to set. Once set, cut it into squares or diamond shapes.

10

Serve the milk fudge as a delightful homemade sweet treat!
