Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 3 minutes.
Add the beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. This should take about 5 minutes.
Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to thicken.
Mix in the cooked pasta, ensuring it is well-coated with the sauce.
Transfer the mixture into a large casserole dish. Top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
