In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water (or milk) to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, add 2 cups of rolled oats to the pot and stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat to low and let the oats simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes until they reach your desired consistency.
While the oats are cooking, chop the almonds into smaller pieces if desired.
After 10 minutes, remove the pot from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of honey until well mixed.
Add the chopped almonds and 1/2 cup of dried fruits to the oatmeal, and mix thoroughly.
Let the oatmeal sit for a minute to thicken up a bit before serving.
Serve the oatmeal warm in bowls, and feel free to add extra honey or toppings if desired. Enjoy!
