Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2.5 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter using an electric mixer on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

3

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.

5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

6

Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 2 inches apart.

7

Use the bottom of a glass or your hand to gently flatten each dough ball slightly.

8

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

9

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
