PastaBaked DishesItalian

Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and stir in the ziti pasta. Cook until al dente according to package instructions. Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.

3

Add the olive oil to the pot of pasta and stir to coat, preventing the pasta from sticking together.

4

Add 1 1/2 cups of marinara sauce to the pasta and mix until well combined.

5

In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.

6

In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread 1/2 cup of the marinara sauce on the bottom.

7

Add half of the pasta mixture into the baking dish, then evenly dollop the ricotta mixture on top. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat with the remaining pasta, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese.

8

Top the final layer with the remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.

9

Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.

10

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown on top.

11

Let the baked ziti rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
