Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a clean, dry mixing bowl, add 3 large egg whites. Whisk the egg whites using an electric mixer on medium speed until they become frothy.
Gradually add 1 cup of sugar, a tablespoon at a time, while continuing to whisk. Once all the sugar is added, increase the speed to high. Continue whisking until stiff peaks form and the meringue is glossy, about 7-10 minutes.
Spoon the meringue mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star tip, or use a spoon to make small mounds of meringue on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After an hour, turn off the oven but leave the meringue cookies inside to cool for another hour. This drying process helps them to become perfectly crisp.
Carefully remove the meringue cookies from the baking sheet and store in an airtight container. They can be enjoyed immediately or stored for up to 2 weeks.
