Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Place the salmon fillets in the center of the baking sheet, skin-side down.
Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Arrange the asparagus spears around the salmon fillets.
Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the salmon and asparagus.
Season both the salmon and asparagus with salt and pepper.
Slice the lemon into thin rounds and place the slices over the salmon fillets and scattered over the asparagus.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a minute before serving. Serve warm with additional lemon juice squeezed over, if desired.
