Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. This will take about 3-4 minutes using an electric mixer.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition to ensure they are fully incorporated.
Slowly add 2 cups of flour to the mixture, one cup at a time, mixing gently until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to ensure a tender cake.
Gradually add 1/3 cup of milk to the batter, mixing until the batter is smooth and homogenous.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
