Season both sides of each pork chop with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Use your hands to rub the spices into the meat to ensure even coverage.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the seasoned pork chops to the skillet. Cook the pork chops for about 4-5 minutes on one side until they are golden brown.
Flip the pork chops and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the cooked side of the chops. Let them cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the other side is golden and the sugar has melted, creating a nice glaze.
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork chops. They should reach at least 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption. If needed, cook them for an extra minute or two.
Once cooked, remove the pork chops from the skillet and allow them to rest for 5 minutes. This will help retain the juices within the meat.
Serve the pork chops warm, drizzled with any remaining glaze from the skillet. Enjoy your sweet and savory pork chops!
