Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the fillets.
Season the salmon with salt and black pepper to taste.
Trim the ends off the asparagus and arrange them around the salmon fillets on the baking sheet.
Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the asparagus and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Arrange the lemon slices over the top of the salmon and asparagus.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender-crisp.
Remove from oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
