Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Place the salmon fillets on the baking sheet. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the fillets and rub it evenly. Season the fillets with salt and pepper to taste.
In a medium bowl, toss the asparagus with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Ensure the asparagus is well coated.
Arrange the asparagus around the salmon fillets on the baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
Serve the salmon and asparagus with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the top before eating.
