Beef Bolognese with Tagliatelle

Beef Bolognese with Tagliatelle

By Ebenezer Obiri

Total: 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 400 g tomato sauce
  • 250 g tagliatelle
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1

Start by chopping the onion and mincing the garlic.

2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

3

Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, or until translucent.

4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

6

Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary. Stir in the tomato sauce, salt, and black pepper, and reduce the heat to low.

7

Let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help the flavors meld together.

8

While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the tagliatelle according to the package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes.

9

Once cooked, drain the tagliatelle and add it to the skillet with the Bolognese sauce. Toss to combine and heat through for a couple of minutes.

10

Serve the Beef Bolognese on plates and generously sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
