Fill a large pot with water, add 1 teaspoon of salt, and bring it to a boil.
Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, grate the cheese and set it aside.
In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
Finely chop the garlic cloves and add them to the pan, sauté until fragrant.
Add 1 cup of milk to the pan and heat gently, stirring occasionally.
Once the milk is warm, gradually add the grated cheese, stirring continuously until it's melted and smooth.
Season the cheese sauce with 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and stir well.
Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the cheese sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated.
Serve the pasta hot, garnished with a sprinkle of extra black pepper if desired.
