Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook the makaron according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and then drain the makaron.
While the pasta is cooking, finely chop the garlic and parsley. Grate the parmesan cheese if not pre-grated.
In a large pan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
Add the cooked makaron to the pan with the garlic. Toss well to coat the pasta with the garlic mixture.
Add half of the reserved pasta water and the grated parmesan cheese. Stir well to melt the cheese and create a creamy sauce. Add more pasta water if needed to achieve the desired sauce consistency.
Season with salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
