Oatmeal with Bananas and Walnuts

Total: 15 minutes
BreakfastVegetarianQuick and Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 2 whole bananas
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

1

In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats with the almond milk. Stir well to ensure that the oats are evenly distributed in the liquid.

2

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Stir occasionally to prevent the oats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

3

Once the mixture begins to boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes or until the oats are cooked and have absorbed most of the almond milk. Stir frequently to maintain a creamy texture.

4

While the oats are cooking, peel and slice the bananas.

5

Once the oatmeal is done, remove the saucepan from the heat. Divide the oatmeal into serving bowls.

6

Top each bowl of oatmeal with sliced bananas and chopped walnuts. Drizzle with honey if using, to add a touch of sweetness.

7

Serve immediately, while warm. Enjoy your breakfast of Oatmeal with Bananas and Walnuts!
