Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a small bowl, mix together the black pepper, salt, and garlic powder.
Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts.
Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large, oven-safe skillet. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Pour the chicken broth into the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon some of the pan juices over the chicken for added flavor.
