Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or prepare charcoal grill with an even layer of hot coals.
Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and set aside.
Peel and cut the potatoes into even sized chunks. Place them in a pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over high heat.
Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer and cook the potatoes until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
While the potatoes are cooking, trim the ends of the green beans. Toss with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Place the seasoned steak on the preheated grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.
In the last 5 minutes of the steak resting, grill the green beans for 5-7 minutes until they are tender and have grill marks. Remove from the grill and set aside.
Once the potatoes are done, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the butter and minced garlic, then mash with a potato masher until smooth.
Gradually stir in the milk, salt, and pepper to the mashed potatoes. Continue to mash and stir until creamy, adjusting the seasoning as needed.
Slice the rested steak against the grain into thin slices.
Serve the sliced steak alongside a generous portion of garlic mashed potatoes and grilled green beans. Enjoy!
