Korean Beef Bulgogi with Steamed Rice & Kimchi

By Sasha Gordanier

Total: 30 minutes
Main CourseKorean CuisineBeef

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Thinly sliced beef
  • 1/2 cup Bulgogi marinade
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1.5 cups Cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup Kimchi
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks Green onions, chopped

Instructions

1

In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with the bulgogi marinade. Mix well to ensure all beef slices are coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.

2

While the beef is marinating, slice the onion into thin strips.

3

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced onion and sauté until they are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

4

Add the marinated beef into the skillet with the onions. Spread the beef out so that it cooks evenly. Cook for about 4-5 minutes or until the beef is browned and cooked through.

5

While the beef is cooking, chop the green onions and set aside for garnish.

6

Once the beef is cooked, taste and add salt and pepper as needed. Stir well to distribute the seasoning.

7

Serve the cooked beef bulgogi over the cooked white rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

8

Serve with a side of kimchi (1/2 cup) for each serving.
