Pork Tenderloin with Apple-Balsamic Reduction and Steamed Broccoli

By JLuke Morris

Total: 30 minutes
Main CourseDinnerPorkHealthy

Ingredients

  • 5 oz pork tenderloin
  • 1/2 small apple
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2

Season the pork tenderloin with salt and pepper on all sides.

3

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork tenderloin and sear on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

4

Transfer the pork tenderloin to a baking dish and place it in the preheated oven. Roast for about 15-18 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

5

While the pork is roasting, peel, core, and finely chop the 1/2 apple.

6

In the same skillet used for searing the pork, add the chopped apple and balsamic vinegar. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apple is tender and the sauce has reduced and thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.

7

Meanwhile, steam the broccoli in a pot with a steaming basket over boiling water until tender but still bright green, approximately 5-6 minutes.

8

Once the pork is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

9

Serve the sliced pork tenderloin topped with the apple-balsamic reduction sauce, alongside the steamed broccoli.
