Ingredients

  • 4 slices Whole grain bread
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 4 whole Fresh figs or fig jam
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1/4 cup Chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to toast the bread or you can use a toaster.

Place the whole grain bread slices on a baking sheet. Lightly drizzle or brush with a little olive oil, if desired.

Toast the bread slices in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy, or use a toaster if you prefer.

Spread 1/4 cup of Ricotta cheese evenly on each slice of toasted bread.

If using fresh figs, wash and slice them thinly. If using fig jam, spread approximately 1 tablespoon on top of the ricotta cheese.

Layer the sliced fresh figs neatly over the ricotta-covered bread slices. If using fig jam, proceed to the next step.

Drizzle each toast with honey, about 1/2 tablespoon per slice.

Sprinkle the chopped walnuts evenly over each slice, then add a touch of lemon zest for an extra burst of flavor.
