Ricotta Toast with Honey & Fresh Figs, Orange Slices

By Sasha Gordanier

Total: 15 minutes
BreakfastBrunchVegetarian

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Whole-grain bread
  • 1 cup Whole-milk ricotta
  • 6 whole figs or 1/2 cup fig jam Fresh figs (or fig jam)
  • 4 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 whole Orange
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions

1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2

Place the slices of whole-grain bread on a baking sheet and lightly brush each side with olive oil.

3

Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

4

While the bread is toasting, segment the orange and set aside.

5

If using fresh figs, wash them, remove the stems, and cut each fig into quarters. If you are using fig jam, you can skip this step.

6

In a small bowl, stir the honey with a sprinkle of black pepper if desired, to give it a subtle spicy hint.

7

Once the bread is toasted, spread a generous amount of whole-milk ricotta onto each slice.

8

Top the ricotta with fig quarters or a dollop of fig jam, followed by the orange segments.

9

Drizzle the honey over the toast, ensuring it covers both the fruit and ricotta.

10

Serve immediately while the toast is warm, optionally finishing with an extra sprinkle of black pepper for added flavor.
