Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
While the spaghetti is cooking, cut the bacon slices into small pieces. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Add the bacon pieces and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated parmesan cheese, and black pepper until well combined.
Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water and then drain the rest. Return the hot spaghetti to the pot.
Quickly add the egg and cheese mixture to the hot spaghetti, stirring vigorously to coat the pasta evenly, allowing the heat from the pasta to cook the eggs.
Add the crispy bacon to the pasta, tossing to combine. If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to help create a creamy sauce.
Season with salt and additional black pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
