  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Instructions

In a small mixing bowl, combine the garlic powder, freshly ground black pepper, paprika, salt, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar.

Stir the ingredients together until they are well combined and form a uniform rub mixture.

Generously apply the rub mixture to all sides of the brisket, pressing it into the meat to ensure it adheres well.

Wrap the brisket in plastic wrap or place it in a sealed container, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight, to let the flavors infuse into the meat.

Before cooking, remove the brisket from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
