Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Peel and chop the sweet potato into 1/2-inch cubes.
Place the sweet potato cubes on a baking sheet. Drizzle with 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.
Roast the sweet potato in the oven for 20 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking.
While the sweet potato is roasting, finely mince the garlic. Rub the salmon fillet with the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
After the sweet potato has been in the oven for 10 minutes, place the seasoned salmon fillet on the same baking sheet and continue roasting for another 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.
While the salmon and sweet potatoes are cooking, bring a pot of water to a boil in a steamer setup. Add the broccoli florets and steam for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still vibrant green.
Once everything is cooked, plate the salmon alongside the roasted sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli. Serve with lemon wedges.
