American-Style Overnight Oats with Berries & Almond Butter

By Codi Ferguson

Total: 8 hours (overnight) + 5 minutes prep
BreakfastVegetarianHealthy

Ingredients

  • 180 g Rolled oats
  • 600 ml Milk (1% or almond)
  • 240 g Mixed berries
  • 3 tbsp Almond butter
  • 3 tsp Honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1.5 tbsp Chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats with the milk (or almond milk if preferred). Stir well to ensure the oats are fully submerged.

2

Add the almond butter to the oat mixture. Stir well until the almond butter is evenly dispersed throughout the mixture.

3

Incorporate the chia seeds (if using) into the mixture. Stir well to ensure even distribution, which will also help thicken the oats as they absorb the liquid overnight.

4

Divide the oat mixture evenly into three jars or bowls with lids, making sure each serving gets equal parts oats and liquid.

5

Add the mixed berries on top of each oat portion, dividing them evenly among the servings.

6

If you desire extra sweetness, drizzle a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup on top of each jar or bowl. This is optional.

7

Seal the containers tightly with their lids and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 8 hours.

8

In the morning, stir the oats well before consuming to distribute the flavors evenly. You can enjoy them cold or heat for a minute or two in the microwave.
