Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or a similar baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix just until combined.
Add the vegetable oil and mix until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
