Ingredients

  • 4 medium tomatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 200 grams spaghetti
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add a pinch of salt and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

2

While the pasta is cooking, finely chop the onion and garlic. Set them aside.

3

Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and set aside.

4

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

5

Add the garlic to the pan and sauté for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

6

Add the diced tomatoes to the pan, stir well, and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the tomatoes are soft and the sauce has thickened slightly.

7

Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it directly to the pan with the tomato sauce. Toss well to combine and coat the spaghetti evenly with the sauce.

8

Serve the pasta on plates and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before serving.
