Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Once boiling, add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually until they float (about 2-4 minutes).
While the gnocchi is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the sage leaves to the melted butter. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sage becomes crispy and the butter is lightly browned.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked gnocchi from the pot and add them directly to the skillet with the sage butter.
Gently toss the gnocchi in the sage butter to coat them evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the gnocchi. Toss again to combine and allow the cheese to melt slightly.
Serve immediately, garnishing with additional sage or Parmesan if desired.
