Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole grain bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • to taste for serving Maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

Instructions

1

In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs and 1 cup of milk until well combined and frothy.

2

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil to the pan and let it melt or heat up.

3

Dip each slice of whole grain bread into the egg and milk mixture, making sure to coat both sides but not letting it soak too long to prevent sogginess.

4

Place the coated bread slices onto the heated skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.

5

Once cooked, transfer the French toast to a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining slices of bread, adding more butter or oil as needed.

6

Serve the French toast warm with a generous drizzle of maple syrup over the top.
