Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness (about 1/2-inch thick) to ensure they cook evenly.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
In a shallow dish, beat the egg. In another shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, then coat it thoroughly with the breadcrumb and Parmesan mixture.
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the breaded chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side.
Pour the marinara sauce over the chicken breasts in the skillet, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 15 minutes.
While the chicken is baking, reheat the cooked spaghetti if necessary. Serve the chicken breasts over the bed of spaghetti, spooning some of the sauce over the pasta.
