Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

By Guest

Total: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 large potato
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chives

Instructions

1

Peel the potatoes and cut them into uniform chunks (about 1-2 inch pieces).

2

Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover them with cold water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water.

3

Bring the pot to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.

4

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and roughly chop the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat, and add the garlic. Sauté the garlic until fragrant and lightly golden (about 2-3 minutes), then remove from heat.

5

Once the potatoes are done, drain them well and return them to the pot. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, sautéed garlic, milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.

6

Use a potato masher or a hand mixer to mash the potatoes until they reach your desired level of creaminess. Adjust the seasoning with more salt or pepper if needed.

7

Stir in chopped chives for added flavor and garnish. Serve immediately while warm.
