Boil a pot of water with a pinch of salt, and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Slice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown on all sides and fully cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the heavy cream to the pan and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
Return the cooked chicken to the pan and combine with the sauce.
Add the cooked pasta to the pan and toss to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
