Classic French Crepes

By Janice Nicole

Total: 30 minutes
BreakfastDessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Instructions

1

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 2 eggs, and 2 tablespoons of sugar until well combined.

2

Gradually add 1 cup of flour to the egg mixture, stirring continuously to prevent any lumps. Continue whisking until the batter is smooth.

3

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add it to the batter. Whisk until the butter is fully incorporated.

4

In a non-stick skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, ladle approximately 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet, swirling the skillet to evenly coat the bottom with a thin layer of batter.

5

Cook the crepe for about 1-2 minutes or until the edges start to lift and the bottom is lightly golden brown. Carefully flip the crepe using a spatula and cook the other side for an additional 1 minute.

6

Remove the crepe from the skillet and repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

7

Serve the crepes warm. They can be enjoyed plain or with your choice of toppings such as fresh fruit, whipped cream, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
