Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with a little olive oil.
Place the salmon fillet skin-side down on one side of the baking sheet. Drizzle half of the olive oil over the salmon, and season with salt and pepper.
Trim the woody ends off the asparagus spears. Place the asparagus next to the salmon on the baking sheet.
Drizzle the remaining olive oil over the asparagus and season with salt and pepper. Toss the asparagus gently to coat evenly.
Bake the salmon and asparagus in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The asparagus should be tender but still crisp.
While the salmon and asparagus are baking, warm the cooked brown rice if necessary. You can do this in a small pan over low heat or briefly in the microwave.
Once the salmon and asparagus are done, serve them alongside the warm brown rice on a plate.
Squeeze the lemon wedge over the salmon and asparagus for added flavor before serving.
