Spaghetti Bolognese

Spaghetti Bolognese

By Nate Patrylak

Total: 30 minutes
Main CourseItalianPasta

Ingredients

  • 100 g spaghetti
  • 150 g ground beef
  • 0.5 cup marinara sauce
  • 0.25 whole onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • to taste pinch salt
  • to taste pinch black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions or until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2

Finely chop the 1/4 onion and mince the garlic clove.

3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

4

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5

Pour in the marinara sauce and stir well to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit of the reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.

6

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Allow it to heat through for about 2-3 minutes.

7

Serve the Spaghetti Bolognese hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
