Marinated Fried Fish

By emensah m

Total: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fish fillets
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

1

Place the fish fillets on a plate. Drizzle the lemon juice and soy sauce over the fillets.

2

Mince the garlic and ginger, then sprinkle them over the fish. Add ground black pepper and salt to taste. Rub the marinade into the fish gently.

3

Cover the marinating fish with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

4

In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour and cornstarch. Gradually add water to make a smooth batter.

5

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

6

Once the oil is hot, dip each marinated fish fillet into the batter to coat thoroughly. Allow excess batter to drip off.

7

Carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry each side for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

8

Remove the fish from the oil and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.

9

Serve the marinated fried fish hot with your choice of dipping sauce or side dish.
