In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Cover and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until fluffy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yoghurt, warm water, olive oil, salt, and proofed yeast. Mix until a dough forms and knead for 1 minute.
Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover with saran wrap and a warm damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Prepare garlic butter by mixing melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and cilantro in a small bowl. Set aside.
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 7 to 8 equal portions.
Oil a flat plate or clean countertops. Spread each dough portion slightly, add shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan in the center, seal tightly into a ball, and roll out thin.
Heat an iron skillet over medium heat. Cook each naan for 2 to 3 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Transfer cooked naan to a tray and repeat with remaining dough. Brush with garlic cilantro butter and serve warm.
