Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed until well combined after each addition.
Add the vanilla extract and salt, and mix on medium speed until incorporated.
Slowly add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency. You may need to add more milk if you prefer a softer frosting.
Once all ingredients are well combined, increase the mixer speed to high and beat for an additional 1-2 minutes until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Taste and adjust the consistency with more milk or powdered sugar if necessary. The frosting should be easily spreadable.
