Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
While the pasta is cooking, mince the garlic cloves.
In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until golden and fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the garlic butter and toss to coat.
Reduce the heat to low and pour the egg and milk mixture over the pasta, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats the pasta, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to scramble the eggs.
Stir in the cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve hot, garnished with additional cheese if desired.
