Total: 45 minutes
DessertIndianSweets

Ingredients

  • 1 can Milkmaid
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 2 tablespoons Almonds or Pistachios, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of ghee to it.

2

Once the ghee is melted, pour 1 can of Milkmaid (sweetened condensed milk) into the pan and start stirring.

3

Add 1 cup of milk to the pan and mix well with the condensed milk.

4

Keep stirring the mixture continuously on medium heat to prevent it from sticking to the pan.

5

After about 10-12 minutes, you will notice the mixture thickening. Add 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder for flavor.

6

Continue to cook the mixture, stirring often, until it starts to leave the sides of the pan and turns into a lump. This should take about 20-25 minutes.

7

Grease a small plate or tray with a little ghee and pour the thickened mixture onto it, spreading evenly with a spoon or spatula.

8

Garnish with chopped almonds or pistachios, pressing them lightly into the surface.

9

Let it cool completely and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature.

10

Once set, cut the burfi into desired shapes and sizes.
