Prepare the chicken breast by seasoning both sides with salt and pepper. Flatten the chicken breast slightly with a kitchen mallet for even cooking.
In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breast and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside, covered to keep warm.
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of butter and melt over medium heat. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add 1 tablespoon of capers and the juice of half a lemon to the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer slightly for about 1-2 minutes.
Return the cooked chicken breast to the skillet, coating it with the sauce. Let it heat through for an additional minute.
In a plate, place the cooked whole-wheat spaghetti as a base, and arrange the chicken breast on top. Drizzle the remaining sauce from the skillet over the chicken and pasta.
Garnish the chicken with freshly chopped parsley and serve it alongside the roasted broccoli. Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired.
