Start by preparing all the ingredients. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger. Cut the beef into thin strips if not already done. Cut the broccoli into small florets and rinse thoroughly.
In a small bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of soy sauce or tamari with 1 tablespoon of grated ginger and 2 minced cloves of garlic.
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the beef strips and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to brown. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and just tender.
Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
Add the cooked brown rice to the skillet and stir-fry together for another 2 minutes until everything is heated through.
Taste and add salt and black pepper as necessary. Stir-fry for another minute and then remove from heat.
Serve the beef and broccoli stir-fry hot over a bed of brown rice or together in a bowl. Enjoy your Asian-inspired meal!
