Peel and devein the shrimp if necessary. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
In a bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the shrimp evenly.
Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
Thinly slice the red cabbage and set aside. Dice the avocado and roughly chop the cilantro. Cut the lime into wedges.
Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 20-30 seconds on each side until they are pliable.
Assemble the tacos by placing a handful of sliced cabbage on each tortilla, followed by some shrimp, a few pieces of diced avocado, and a sprinkle of cilantro.
Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of lime juice over the assembled tacos.
