By Light Darko
Start by preparing the bread. In a large bowl, combine 1.5 cups of warm water, 2.25 teaspoons of dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir lightly and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic. You may need to add a bit more flour if the dough is sticky.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until it has doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to remove excess air, then shape it into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the shaped dough rise for another 15-20 minutes as the oven heats.
Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped.
While the bread is baking, heat 4 cups of canned soup on the stove over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
Once the bread is done baking, let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with the soup.
