Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, cumin, and chili powder.
Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink inside. An internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) ensures the chicken is cooked through.
While the chicken is cooking, scoop out the avocado flesh and mash it in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and the juice of half a lime to the avocado and mix well. Set aside.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Then slice it into thin strips.
Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet on medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until they are pliable and slightly browned.
Assemble the tacos by placing a layer of shredded lettuce on each tortilla. Top with sliced chicken, a spoonful of mashed avocado, and a drizzle of salsa.
Optional: Serve with lime wedges on the side for extra flavor.
